The game has a good story line as it progresses, and in my opinion, the graphics are excellent along with the third person view as your are playing the game. As you play you really don’t feel as if you are playing a first person game. The way the game has been programed allows you to see the soldier you are controlling from a out of body experience so to speak, and this mode of playing the game is kind of nice from the traditional constantly looking down the barrel of your rifle all the time view point.
Unfortunately, it appears as if “Future Soldier” is the only Ghost Recon series game that will run on windows 7. It would install without asking me for an “Activation Key” twice! The real steps for good operation for this game is; 1. Then after U have completed your downloading of “Ubisoft”, U will see a place for your game’s “Activation Key”, enter it, and your will soon be up, and running smoothly!
So basically, U must be computer literate One person found this helpful. I’d hold off a bit until they work some bugs out. I installed, then had to un-install to get it working. I actually havnt played it yet but I am a big fan of all the GR series. I am sure I wont be disappointed, but I’d wait for it to be cheaper and less buggy. The forums had some PO’d people on it. It appears it may have been a quick release or a bad “port over” from a console. Hold off though. The forums are a bloodbath and tech support is overwhelmed.
There are many horror stories. The game CTD’s for many many people. I could not even get it to run for 3 weeks. It CTD’d before getting to the main screen. I finally had to fix it myself by uninstalling and re-installing many times and trying different methods. My key was to NOT let it patch the first time and setup the game first with the orgininal version 1.
If you are a fan of the Ghost series, you might be disappointed. This is a port over from a console game. Very badly. There is not “first person” view. Extremely disappointing for me. I haven’t played much but I don’t believe there is any AI. It took like 10 minutes to find and join a MP session.
I had no control over selection of servers. It just placed me in one. Frankly, at the moment its a horror story. I’d hold off buying until it hits the bargain bin ,,, or the waste bin. Its not worth the current price. I’ve got a couples hours of play in and I have to say I agree with previous reviewers.
It’s a console port. From the very start, the game feels dated and poorly done. Graphics are sub-par, the cinematics are boring and the gameplay is stale. I figured it would graphically as strong as BF3, but its deff. Doesn’t really seem to matter what you do, the game holds your hand every step of the way, telling you what to do at every turn. Don’t get me wrong, it’s got some fun factor, i just don’t know how long it will last.
Oh well, another game I waited years for only to be sorely disappointed. Coming from someone who has played many of the Tom Clancy games, starting with the first Rainbow six, this game is a disappointing departure from previous efforts.
The new Rainbow 6 looks pretty awesome though, I hope they don’t try to ruin that too This game won’t load unless I disable and then enable the video driver everytime I boot up. I have a fully up to date win 8. Oh well, at least I figured out how to get the games to work. I’m playing the game in 3D and it looks real nice and is interesting. I’m about half way thru the single campaign and it’s been pretty fun but not as much fun as the Splinter Cell series nor Battlefield, etc.
Oh well, I buy games a year later when the price is way down and it’s been decent. Crysis 3 is still my favorite – love the arrow weapons. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. But Amazon has done their delivery really good. Report abuse. I couldn’t even get it to work properly. Instead this a game that plays via internet only I have uninstalled it! The product was usless as one of the disc did’nt worked Its a waste of money.
